Giraffe

Habitat: Mainly Giraffe are living in savanna, sahel and dry open woodland, especially the region with an abundance of acacia (small thorny tree) which is their favorite foods. Historically, giraffe existed in most of African countries. However, these days we can only find them naturally in the sub-Saharan regions (from Mali to Kenya, and south to northern part of South Africa)

Food: Giraffe mainly eat foods that are tall. They eat the leaves from bushes, and fruits from the trees too. Their favorite food is the acacia tree. Typically giraffe eats 30kg of food in day.

Activity: When giraffes walk, they can reach up to 55km/h at full speed. They sleep less than two hours a day with their feet tucked under their body and their head resting on the hindquarters. But giraffe can also sleep standing up in short period of time.

Characteristic: Giraffes have spots covering the entire body, except underbelly. Every giraffe have a unique pattern of sports. They have long neck to browse the leaves/bushes of trees. Their legs are also long.
